Case Intake
ROAR Kingdom begins with one question: What evidence shows this person may not have committed the crime?
This intake is designed to gather the minimum information needed to decide whether a case appears to involve a credible claim of factual innocence and what records or professional review may be needed next.
Before you submit
- Do not send original or irreplaceable evidence.
- Do not send Social Security numbers, passwords, or unnecessary medical information.
- If there is a filing, appeal, habeas, parole, preservation, or other legal deadline, put that deadline first.
- If the person currently has an attorney, identify the attorney and do not interfere with representation.
- Focus on evidence of factual innocence, not only unfairness or sentencing concerns.
Information ROAR needs
- Person and case: full name, state, county, court, case number, offense, sentence, facility, and current custody status.
- Procedural status: trial date, appeal/post-conviction history, current attorney status, and any known upcoming deadline.
- Why innocence is claimed: the clearest evidence suggesting the person did not commit the crime.
- State’s theory: what prosecutors said happened and the evidence they relied on.
- Contradictions: testimony, reports, forensic claims, timelines, or statements that do not match.
- Missing evidence: transcripts, discovery, lab files, video, phone/location records, prior statements, or other material that has not been obtained.
- New evidence: recantations, alternate suspects, new witnesses, new testing, digital records, or other evidence not heard by the jury.
- Contact information: who is submitting the case and their relationship to the incarcerated person.
